Dementia Solidarity is the Theme of ARDSICON 2009. Dementia is not only a medical problem, but also a social menace. Holistic tackling of Dementia, billed as the ‘disease of the century’ which has fast been taking on a mammoth proportion of an epidemic, requires engagement of the entire society in spreading awareness, ensuring prevention and early diagnosis, providing care and support to the afflicted people and their family members, care counseling and training care givers. Building up a strong Dementia Solidarity is the need of the hour, where medical professionals, researchers, professional and family care-givers, various social platforms, corporate citizens and common man at large can unite in the urgent Dementia mission. It is in this background that the theme of ARDSICON 2009 has been chosen. The theme of the last Annual Conference of Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) in Singapore – Dementia: Engaging Societies Around the World – also drives home the same realisation.
Join Dementia Solidarity: ARDSICON 2009 invites every entity of our society to come forward and build up a strong Dementia Solidarity platform. You may participate in the Conference by registering your name, you may support the Conference by sponsoring the mega event in any of the various ways of sponsorship, or, simply you may download the Memory Pledge, sign and submit. Every signed Pledge means a stronger social advocacy for the urgent Dementia mission.
